Software Guru, Inc. is a full service boutique consulting firm offering a wide range of services from 'Rent-A-CTO' to "Build-Me-A-Trading-Platform' to "Build-Me-A-Website' and 'Install-Me-A-Server'.

Software Guru is both a System Integrator and Application Developer.  After several years of helping our customers move to 'The Cloud', Software Guru has launched its own Cloud Platform based on a highly scalable custom ESXi Enterprise Clustering System.  Using highly optimized RAIN Storage, we can provide a lower cost, high performance solution to our customers than they were getting previously at the large Cloud Providers.

The Cloud specific services offered by Software Guru include:

  • CloudProtect:  Backup any Windows 2008 or later server, physical or virtual to Software Guru's Enterprise class Cloud Infrastructure.
    • At the most basic entry level, we can back up a single server into our shared backup cloud, replicating the data on your server every 3, 6 or 9 hours.
    • If you have more than one server, or have a more complex environment with VPN connections to other locations, we offer CloudProtect vLAN where we replicate any or all of your servers to your own dedicated vLAN where firewall rules, VPN Tunnels and other servers can be preconfigured for a DR Scenario.
  • My vCloud: Unlike other Cloud providers we rent you an entire, fully functional Cloud.
    • Your vCloud includes a fully configurable firewall with unliimited VPN Tunnels and unlimited VPN user Clients.
    • You then simply add resources (vCPUs, RAM and Storage) to your vCloud with our incredibly simple pricing model:  
      • $10 per vCPU
      • $10 per 1 GB RAM 
      • $10 per 100 GB RAIN Storage. (IOPS are configurable on a per vDisk basis)
    • MS Windows 2012 R2 or Windows 2008 R2 licenses are included in this price.  If you use only Linux, you get a credit against the license cost.
    • Inside your vCloud you can distribute these resources however you want. 
      • We have multiple templates available for VMs or you can bring your own.
      • As an ESXi platform, we can upload any OVF/OVA template, as well as MS VHDs
      • Simply create an instance from a template and add whatever resources you want from your resource pool
      • You can have multple vLANs inside your vCloud; each vLAN comes with its own firewall and public IP.
    • Want to move your old servers to the Cloud?
      • Using our CloudProtect Agents, we can replicate your current physical or virtual machine into your vCloud and then bring it live during one of your mainteance windws.
  • Need a bigger name for your Cloud Services?  We can help.
    • We work with AWS, Azure, Google and Rackspace, and can help you navigate and manage their Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Need Office 365?
    • As a MS Business partner, we can get you setup and migrated to Office 365
    • We can also administer Office 365 for you based on a small per user per month fee.

 
 

Disaster Recovery

 CloudProtect any Windows 2008 or later server
  • Backup both physical and virtual servers to the Cloud
  • Our CloudProtect Agent uses VSS to snapshot your server's disks and replicates them to a dedicated VM in our cloud using data compression and AES 256 bit encryption.
  • All data stored with AES 256 bit encryption
  • Schedule 3, 6, 9 hour intervals.  After the initial replication, only changes are replicated.
  • Replicate only the disks you want protected
  • Replicate multiple servers into your own vCloud and have all necessary IP Addresses, Firewall Rules and VPN Tunnels ready to go in a DR Scenario
  • Provide users with a Windows 2012 R2 Desktop Experience from anywhere using our HTML 5 RDP Client in a DR scenario

  • Optionally use Office 365 in one of our vClouds, providing each user with a Windows 2012R2 Desktop Experience and access to a full Virtual Office with Active Directory, File Services, Anti-Virus and all the traditional amenities.
  • Your IT support staff can manage, or we can provide management for a per user per month fee based on the details of your infrastructure.

Flexible Retainer
Software Guru offers a flexible retainer for all of its customers think of it as "Virtual Hands On" support but with the ability to store up hours for the big things.

  • Clients select a set number of hours per month based on a discussion of their needs.  For a vCloud, this is typically 1 or 2 hours per month, unless it's a very big vCloud.
  • Hours are flexible, meaning they roll over and under.
    • Use too many hours this month?  Try to use less next month.
    • Didn't use all the hours you have this month?  Store them up for a rainy day, or for a big project.
    • If you continue to go over for several months, we'll have a discussion about raising future months to cover the overage.
    • And, we'll do the same going the other way.
